Episode 68 – The Son Of Big Breakfast

The guys got on their Sunday night recording grind for you, dear listeners, for you. They hope you enjoy the result.

They guys spend a lot of time discussing past Holiday parties, so if you’re not into that maybe consider just skipping to the twenty-six minute mark? If, however, Holiday Parties align with your personal brand then this is a show for you. Starting around the four-minute mark Dave talks about the historic shortcomings of Iron Galaxy Orlando Holiday parties….until this year when they’ve snatched the “Best Holiday Party of all Time” crown from Iron Galaxy Chicago’s 2010 banger. Before you can protest this claim: It’s not even close.

Darryl dove head-long into the Steam ecosystem over Holiday break, and fell in love with Gone Home. Dave then discussed getting sick after Christmas, and he’s son’s dark voyage into the breakfast sandwich subculture.

Episode 67 – The Force Was Not With Frank N Steins

This show is split up into three distinct parts:

Part 1: Small talk with Dave and Darryl. The guys talk about some immutable laws of game dev, the Orlando Team GFB meet-up, and some light game chat.

Part 2: Dave does a solo email session, and realizes he ruined an otherwise lovely Anniversary present for a CCG.

Part 3: Star Wars Spoiler Cast.

(We forgot to do a GFB at the end of the show, and the guys have never been more ashamed).

Episode 66 – Team GFB Presents: Dave Lang and the CCG All-Star Spectacular

The entirety of this show was recorded live from the Playstation Experience, where Dave interviewed a metric ton of CCGs. He started off talking with Playstation’s Matt Kessler, but was quickly ambushed by CBSi’s Jeff Gerstmann mid-interview. Please savor this chat, as we suspect it will be the last time Matt will be allowed to speak on Playstation’s behalf.

After getting Matt to roll over on several business partners, Dave and Jeff chat up Matt’s boss, Gio Corsi of Playstation. Gio is a show veteran, and comports himself with an unusual dignity and flair. From Gio we roll right into Friend of the Show Keir, where he and Dave basically agree on what it would be like if they were to play a game of American 21. Post-Keir, Dave talks to Adriel Wallick about the joys of living in Amsterdam, and making games on trains.

Things get serious when Dave finds Dose One for a discussion on fist fights in Philly, music and sound production, and other heady issues of the day. Immediately after that, Dave bumped into Dan Teasdale and Panzer of No Goblin, who were still riding the high from their new game, 100 Robot Feet, being announced during the PSX Keynote.

Dave wraps up the podcast by chatting with Kahlief Adams from Spawn on Me, where they come up with a great idea for a new show they will never do, and Isaac Torres whom you all will quickly forget as he didn’t bring his A-game.

Episode 65 – I’m Dreaming Of A GFB Christmas

Feeling good about this one. We revisit the glory that isn’t sex in the Prius. Darryl talks about his first Turkey Day in Orlando. Dave fell into the show hole that is Hannibal. In short, the show gets off to a good start.

And somehow…it keeps rolling. Dave talks about trying to buy Assassins Creed Syndicate and Fallout 4…before succumbing to crappy download times and playing Unity. Then Dave is getting ready to go to PSX, and gets Darryl caught up with what he should expect.

Then things get awkward. Dave, for only reasons he understands, decided to role play as one of Darryl’s children. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Then he did that two more times. After that if you’re into rap music, Dave thinks you might enjoy the new Lice EP. Finally, the guys hit up a few emails before sailing away into the good night.
